Oliver G. McGee III, Ph.D., M.B.A., CFRM, AFWCI - Speaker, Professor, Researcher, Administrator, and Adviser to Governments, Corporations, and Philanthropy.

Dr. McGee brings a wide background of experience in providing the utmost in service for his clients and a quality education to his students. Dr. McGee served as Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science at Ohio State University (2001-2005), the first African-American to hold that administrative position and a professorship at the school.

At Howard University, Dr. McGee functioned as Vice President for Research and Compliance (2007-2008), and has maintained his role as Professor of Mechanical Engineering since 2007.

McGee is former U.S. deputy assistant secretary of transportation for technology policy (1999-2001) in the Clinton Administration, and former senior policy adviser in the Clinton White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (1997-1999).

He has also served as Special Assistant to President Wayne G. Clough at the Georgia Institute of Technology (1997-2001) and Visiting Associate Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Gas Turbine Laboratory (1993), and was one of four inaugural appointments to the Martin Luther King Jr. Visiting Professorship at MIT (1995-1997).

Oliver McGee studied at Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. He earned a Master's in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona, where he later returned to earn a Ph.D., 1988 in Engineering Mechanics with a minor in Aerospace Engineering.

Dr. McGee continued his education by graduating from Wharton's Advanced Management Program (AMP36), as well as, earning the Certificate of Professional Development (C.P.D., 2001) in business administration and finance at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In 2004, Dr. McGee received an Masters in Business Administration and Finance (M.B.A., 2004) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

He also earned the Certificate of Fund Raising Management (CFRM, 2013) from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University. McGee is also an Associate Fellow of the World Certification Institute (AFWCI, 2013).

In addition to his academic work, Dr. McGee leads Partnership Possibilities for America, a consulting firm in Washington, D.C. The group has worked with high-profile clients in both the private and public sectors, including several in the Fortune 500. Through his company, Dr. McGee has given many speeches at outreach and engagement events, as well as seminars for such clients as NASA, MIT, University of Cincinnati, and George Washington University.
